To mark the opening of the exhibition: Sepik. L’art au long du fleuve at the Musée du quai Branly on 26 October 2015 a symposium will be held on Tuesday and Wednesday, 27 and 28 October 2015.
While the Research Department of the Musée du quai Branly is inviting the speakers, access to the Symposium is open to the public.

ARTKELCH is pleased to present the first exhibition in Europe dedicated to the internationally celebrated Ömiewomen barkcloth artists from the remote mountain villages that surround the sacred volcano Huvaimo in Oro Province, Papua New Guinea.
From September 2014 to March 2015 the works will be shown at ARTKELCH in Freiburg, at the ARTKELCH collectors lounge close to Stuttgart and at the Museum für Völkerkunde in Munich. read more »
At the time of the German Empire romantic images of Samoa were influenced to a great extent by so-called ethnic shows (Völkerschauen) which were visited by millions of people. The images of foreign cultures popular in Germany at that time – and to this day – date back to this era. read more »
