Tumbuna Art Project (TAP) Innaugural Project: Taim mi Lukim Exhibition
March 15-29, 2010
Broodbox Gallery, Melbourne
Opening reception: March 19, 2010

Tumbuna Art Project (TAP) would like to present it's first major project -Taim mi Lukim Exhibition March 15-29th with Opening night March 19th at Broodbox Gallery, Melbourne. “Taim mi Lukim” (the title literally meaning “When I saw it”) is a retrospective view of Papua New Guinean culture and landscape encompassing spiritual connections and stories from the artists land, culture and tradition.

TAP (Tumbuna Art Project) is a not-for-profit group founded by David, Anna and Ash. The idea began when David moved to Papua New Guinea two years ago and shared the idea of supporting PNG artists. Through TAP, the group is looking to bridge cultural understanding by offering events that promote diversity through visual art, media and music. By working with local and independent artists, TAP connects social and informal networks and provides platforms for emerging artists to display their work and promote cultural, political and social awareness.

To support TAP:ONE (TAP's first exhibition) "Taim mi Lukim" a fundraiser will be held at Bertha Brown on Thursday, March 11th where we invite you to make a $5 donation in the form of a postcard. Postcards can be picked up on the night, taken away to put your creative spin on and dropped back to us during the exhibition at Broodbox Gallery.

Mores details can be found on the attached and on our website.

Facebook users can also expect an invitation to the event from our TAP Facebook page.
Feel free to forward onto to friends / colleagues who might also be interested. We look forward to seeing you there!
